For this Hometown’s Project, we gathered a team of 45 Lowe’s associates and vendor partners and together we: 🖌️ Repainted the south side of the building and the children’s art room 🧹 Cleaned out and organized all the classrooms, offices, bathrooms, laundry, pantry, kitchen, and the auditorium/cafeteria 🌼 Beautified the landscaping around the building and parking lot As we were working, we realized the washer, dryer, and AC unit were beyond use, so we surprised Y.E.S. with brand-new ones. The Executive Director told us 'You have no idea how much this means. A lot of our children’s families have to use the washer and dryer here. This means so much.' It means a lot to know that the work we did will directly impact kids and families who need encouragement and support. “Growing up, my granddad owned a hardware store in our hometown and I remember working with him at a young age. After ten years working for the Merchandising Service Team, Amanual wanted to bring his passion as a designer into his work. So, he pitched his case to the design team, and it led to him creating a top-selling Halloween decor item, “The Party Skeleton”. “This was truly a moment of quiet validation for me as I believe if you have a passion for something, you can’t be afraid to express it, you have to go out and do it. When I first saw the product on display, it confirmed that I can do this-and it is not just something in my head.
