In January 2025, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life: I approached our board about finding my replacement as CEO. Founder succession is one of the most emotional, high-stakes moments in a company’s life. And yet—few of us talk about how to do it well. So we documented the entire process. From the decision to the search, to the values that guided us, and how we found Hadi Moussa, Oyster®’s new CEO. 👇 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/evgFsmRJ

Let's talk about Spain. Not because it’s trendy. Because the talent is there. And teams are already hiring there. The part that slows people down isn’t interest. It’s the rules. - Working hours are capped. - Probation depends on the role. - Pay and termination aren’t flexible in the way some teams expect. Most teams learn this mid-process. That’s when things get a bit complicated. We pulled together a short field guide on hiring in Spain though. What changes. What’s fixed. What catches teams off guard. If Spain is on your roadmap for 2026, this helps you move with fewer surprises. Read the guide. Link is in the comments 👇

Over the past year, I’ve been listening deeply — to our team, our board, our customers, and to myself. And one thing became clear: Oyster® is stepping into a great new chapter. A chapter that calls for new strengths: operational excellence, execution at scale, and a fresh perspective to match our global ambition. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built so far. From zero to a global movement. From an idea to a platform empowering thousands of companies and people around the world. In this first chapter, I brought the vision, courage, building from zero, and proving the impossible was possible. Now, Oyster needs operational sharpness, execution velocity, and scale at a different altitude. That realization didn’t come from pressure. It came from love for what we’ve built, and for what Oyster can become. Which is why I’ve decided to step into the role of Executive Chairman. And I’m thrilled to welcome Hadi Moussa as Oyster’s new CEO. Stepping into the role of Executive Chairman isn’t stepping away. It’s stepping into where I can add the most value, while empowering the right leader to take us forward. More on that soon. 🌍 ♻️ Repost to share with your network.

I'm excited to share that I've joined Oyster® as its new CEO. Oyster's mission is deeply personal. I grew up in Lebanon during a time when professional ambition often meant making an impossible choice: stay close to the people you love, or leave to pursue the career you want. I chose to leave after university because the opportunities I was looking for weren't accessible at home. That choice came with guilt and a sense of unfinished business I still carry. No one should have to make that choice. Throughout my career at Facebook, Airbnb, Deliveroo, Coursera, and most recently as CEO of Coople, I've focused on helping growth-stage companies scale through the messy, exciting phase where product-market fit meets rapid expansion. Now I get to bring that experience to a company whose mission I believe in deeply: making it possible for talent to flourish anywhere, and for companies to build world-class teams without borders. Tony Jamous has built something remarkable, and I'm grateful for his trust as we move into this next chapter. Over the coming weeks, I'm looking forward to meeting more of the team, customers, and community. Together, we'll keep scaling Oyster's impact and making borderless work the new normal. If we do this well, fewer people will have to choose between home and potential. Let's get to work.

Today, I’m excited to share an important milestone in Oyster’s journey: we’re welcoming Hadi Moussa as our new CEO  🎉 Leading Oyster through its first chapter has been one of the greatest honors of my life. When we started, all we had was a clear mission, entrepreneurial courage, and the belief that talent should not be limited by geography. Five years later, that belief has grown into a global movement and a company with deep purpose at its core. As Oyster evolves, so does my role. I will be stepping into the position of Executive Chairman: a proactive transition we have prepared for from a place of strength, designed to accelerate Oyster’s next chapter of growth. In this new role, I’ll continue to publicly represent Oyster, serving as a bridge between the board and the company, and supporting Hadi and the Executive Team as an advisor and mission partner. Hadi is a uniquely strong leader for this moment. His personal story mirrors the purpose that shaped Oyster: crossing borders, navigating opportunity, and believing in a more equal world of work. He also brings the operational excellence, global experience, and strategic clarity needed to scale Oyster into its next era. For me personally, this transition is also a moment of alignment. I feel called to create more space for my children and to listen for my own next chapter, while staying fully committed to Oyster’s mission and community. This evolution allows me to do both, with presence, intention, and love. Over the past years, I’ve also come to understand more deeply the personal story that led me to create Oyster: growing up in Lebanon, leaving home at a young age, and carrying a lifelong commitment to expand opportunity across borders. That experience has shaped my leadership, and it will always live at the heart of Oyster’s mission. As I evolve, I feel ready to contribute from a different place — not from the urgency of building something new, but from the clarity and steadiness required to help guide it into its next chapter. What makes this moment powerful is that we are not slowing down. We are accelerating. Oyster’s mission remains the beating heart of everything we do, and this transition strengthens our ability to serve it at a larger scale. I truly believe that the chapter ahead will surpass anything we’ve imagined, not only in business growth but in the impact we will continue to create in the world. Please join me in welcoming Hadi to the Reef. Our next chapter begins today — and I couldn’t be more excited for what we will build together.

  • Last week, we asked where teams plan to hire next. The Philippines stood out by a lot. Teams are choosing the Philippines for strong English skills, deep experience in global roles, and a workforce that knows how to work across time zones. But hiring well there means understanding the details: • local labor laws • benefits and 13th-month pay • payroll and termination rules • what “good” actually looks like on the ground So, we built the Philippines Field Guide Think of it as a field guide for global hiring. It’s a practical, country-by-country look at how global teams hire, pay, and support people in the Philippines with help from local experts who know the system. If the Philippines is on your hiring list for 2026, start here. Explore the field guide. Link is below 👇 #Philippines #GlobalEmployment #GlobalPayroll
