Finance teams know the pain: turning enterprise contracts into cash takes longer than it should. What looks like “business as usual” — manual reconciliations, delayed invoices, month-end fire drills — hides something bigger: A silent drag on revenue. Manual contract-to-cash doesn’t just waste hours. It slows closes, traps cash, and keeps finance from being the strategic partner it should be. This isn’t just inefficiency. It’s growth left on the table. In our latest eBook, we break down the hidden costs of contract-to-cash and how modern teams are rethinking the process (link in comments).

Today we're spotlighting Patricia McConnell, our Lead Technical Recruiter. Since joining in January, Patricia has been instrumental at helping our EPD organization grow. Here's what brought her to Orb and what she's excited about: "Orb isn't just solving hard problems—they're reimagining how complex systems can work at scale. What really drew me in was the opportunity to build alongside world-class talent who are pushing boundaries in ways I hadn't seen before. But beyond the technical excellence, there's something special about a culture that treats bold ambition and genuine collaboration as inseparable forces. That combination is rare, and it's exactly where I knew I wanted to be. I'm energized by the opportunity to help scale an already exceptional EPD organization while it's hitting its stride. There's something uniquely rewarding about joining a team that's not just growing, but evolving—where I can contribute to building the systems, relationships, and culture that will define how we tackle even bigger challenges ahead. It's the perfect intersection of immediate impact and long-term vision building. What struck me immediately wasn't just how quickly I felt welcomed—it was watching how naturally the team moves between supporting each other and challenging ideas. There's this infectious energy where everyone's personal investment in our mission translates into genuine care for teammates' growth and success. It's the kind of environment that doesn't just make you want to do great work; it makes you believe you can do your best work." We're hiring! withorb.com/careers

When it comes to usage-based billing, LaunchDarkly needed a partner that understood the unknown unknowns. Nate Graf and the team ran a rigorous evaluation: ✔️ Build internally? 4-6 months minimum, plus endless edge cases to maintain ✔️ Buy a solution that could actually keep pace with their business ✔️ Find a team with deep domain expertise—engineers who understood usage-based billing at a technical level The choice was clear. LaunchDarkly chose Orb to power their shift from seat-based friction to usage-based freedom. The result? Self-serve growth unlocked. Usage visibility that once took 8 hours now happens in seconds. Billing edge cases that drained engineering time? Solved. We're thrilled to partner with LaunchDarkly as they help 5,500+ enterprises ship innovation consistently and confidently. Congrats to our friends at Factory on their $50M Series B! Orb is thrilled to power billing for the next generation of AI agents as they transform how software gets built.
The best agents for software development are becoming the best agents for everything. Factory's Droids are the best software development agents in the world, reaching #1 on Terminal Bench. Factory has raised $50M from New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Sequoia Capital, J.P. Morgan, NVIDIA, Abstract, Mantis Venture Capital and other industry leaders including Frank Slootman, Nikesh Arora, and Aaron Levie. Today, Droids are available to anyone, with any model, in any interface: CLI, IDE, Slack, Linear, Browser. More on our launch 🧵 • Terminal Bench goes beyond just coding and evaluates agents on a broader set of tasks to modernize legacy code, debug dev environments, train AI models, and manage cloud infrastructure. Droids using sub-frontier models outperform agents from research labs using their own most expensive frontier models. By a wide margin. • Every AI coding platform forces you to choose: one IDE, one LLM, one agent, one interface. Subscribing and unsubscribing from plans to try and stay at the cutting edge is now obsolete. Developers deserve a choice. Droids work with any LLM, in any IDE, in local or remote, and in any interface. You can delegate tasks to Droids from your Terminal, your IDE, Slack, Linear, or on the web. • Factory's platform for Agent-Native Development has been globally rolled out at enterprise engineering organizations such as MongoDB, EY, Bayer, Zapier, and Clari. Enterprises are seeing results across the SDLC: 31x fast feature delivery, 96.1% shorter migration times, 95.8% reduction in on-call resolution times, and more time for developers to focus on design and architecture. Droids accelerate the less exciting but very real bottlenecks that occur in large, complex organizations: migrations, refactors, testing, documentation, code review. Try out the Droids with a free month today.

Finance leaders today aren’t just managing enterprise contracts. They’re reconciling: ⚡ PLG with usage-based pricing 🤝 SLG with complex ramps & custom clauses All within one close cycle. Manual contract-to-cash wasn’t built for this reality. It slows cash, increases audit risk, and forces finance teams into endless spreadsheets. In our latest post, we unpack why modern pricing models have exposed the cracks in finance processes — and how Orb Contract-to-Cash makes revenue operations finance-led from day one. Orb reposted this
AI companies don’t usually fail because they picked the “wrong” pricing model. They fail because they can’t ship the pricing model they picked. Here’s the pattern I keep seeing across AI teams, and Orb’s report sums it up perfectly: - Start simple with usage-based or credits - Adoption grows, usage patterns diverge - Finance wants alerts, product wants custom plans, sales wants enterprise commits - Engineering hears: “Can you rebuild billing?” Suddenly pricing becomes a roadmap risk. Or worse, hardcoded into Python scripts and webhook spaghetti that breaks 6 months later. Orb’s report shows the best AI companies treat pricing the same way they treat product: 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝. 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞. Not because it’s nice to have, but because pricing is the product. And it needs infrastructure to evolve as fast as the AI stack it supports. The report includes a great breakdown of how top teams are doing it. Worth a read, I will drop the link in the comments.
