We’re sending a heartfelt thank you to our friends at Meijer for their incredible generosity and commitment to community wellbeing. Thanks to their support of the Ohio Living Foundation, we’re able to invest even deeper in our greatest asset — our people. Meijer’s donation is helping us ease transportation challenges, support continuing education, and provide vital childcare resources for our dedicated team members. Whether it’s a nurse on night shift, a culinary team member prepping meals with care, or a home health aide serving in the community, Meijer is making a real difference in the lives of those who care for others. Together, we’re building stronger, healthier communities — and we couldn’t do it without partners like you. Thank you, Meijer! #workforce #philanthropy #seniorliving #Meijer #OhioLiving

We’re sending a big thank you to our friends at AT&T for their incredible generosity and belief in lifelong learning. With their support of the Ohio Living Foundation, we’re expanding access to digital skills training for older adults through our Tech Savvy Seniors initiative. Thanks to AT&T’s funding, seniors across our communities are gaining confidence and independence through hands-on courses in Computer Basics, Internet Essentials, Cybersecurity, and Fraud Prevention. Whether it’s learning to email loved ones, navigate online banking, or spot scams before they strike, these tools are helping older adults stay connected and protected in today’s digital world. Together, we’re bridging the digital divide and empowering seniors to thrive — and we couldn’t do it without partners like you. Judy Sweeney has worked at Ohio Living Llanfair for 45 years. She has served in several different roles during her tenure. Judy began her career as a front desk receptionist before moving into the human resources department. After she retired, she started her current position as activity coordinator for independent living. “I drove by Ohio Living Llanfair all the time with my kids,” said Judy. “I saw an ad for bookkeeper and payroll. I applied, had an interview and was told I would hear something within one week. The next day they called and offered me the job. The woman calling was Mrs. Carter. I remember my 6-year-old daughter answered the phone and thought it was President Carter’s wife calling.” Judy expressed it’s the “little things” that bring her joy each day. “The residents and employees stand out the most. I just can’t walk away from the residents.” Even on the tough days, she finds joy in her role. “Sometimes when I wake up not feeling 100%, I think about maybe calling off,” said Judy. “I know that once I’m here, I’ll feel better and someone will always make you feel better.”

During World Alzheimer’s Month, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing memory care and brain health for aging Ohioans. Now in Phase 2 of a multi-year initiative, we’re expanding our focus beyond traditional memory care settings to better serve residents in independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing. Building on the strong foundation laid in Phase 1, which established Memory Care Centers of Excellence at eight of our life plan communities, we are proud to bring tailored, high-quality support to even more individuals and families navigating cognitive change. By creating dementia-friendly communities, we aim to address and eliminate the stigma that comes with dementia through education and understanding.
