Recognized annually from September 15 - October 15, Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month highlights the histories and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The month-long celebration also uplifts the cultural legacy of individuals and families deeply rooted in rich traditions. This year, JD Finish Line will celebrate employees, as well as their cultures and heritages, through various activities and celebrations all month long. Every day, JD Finish Line strives to be THE Place to Grow for employees through various whole-person development opportunities and initiatives. This year, in collaboration with the Early Career Professionals Employee Resource Group (ERG), this month has been dedicated to focusing on the success stories of early career professionals within JD Finish Line. During the month, employees and their career journeys will be featured to inspire others. To mark the occasion, we brought together current and former interns, supervisors and leaders who have helped shape our internship experience over the years. From reminiscing on the early days of our former external program to highlighting the impact of our internal Corporate Academy, it was a powerful moment of reflection and connection. Since launching our Corporate Academy internship program in 2021, we’ve welcomed 90 interns into the program. We’re proud to share that over 56% have transitioned into permanent roles on our corporate team—a testament to our belief in being THE Place to Grow. JD Finish Line was proud to represent at the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration — one of the largest and most impactful African American cultural events in the nation! Our team showed up in full force at the Corporate Luncheon on July 18, where we heard from powerful speakers and repped the JD brand with pride. At our activation, customers got creative with a local artist, customizing their own kicks and taking home our classic JD bags. JD Finish Line brought the fun with our annual employee-favorite event, Summer Fest—this year with a nostalgic 80s twist! Team members from Customer Care, the Distribution Center, and our Indianapolis Office came together for an afternoon of connection, games, and great food served up by our senior leadership. From retro yard games and a dunk tank to the always-competitive cornhole tournament, the energy was high. Employees also had a chance to visit info tables hosted by our Veterans Employee Resource Group, the JD Finish Line Foundation, and LifeGuides—just one of the many benefits available to our team members through peer-to-peer coaching.
