How flexible is your workforce strategy? If you’re a health system and your answer isn’t “very,” you’re probably spending too much on staffing—and chances are that you could be making your employees much happier (and more likely to stay). The team at Henry Ford Health has it figured out. They use Hallmark tech so their float staff of 600 nurses, physical and occupational therapists, medical assistants, LPNs, porters, and ER and surgery technicians can choose their own schedules. (The tech even tracks credentials.) The results? $40 million in cost avoidance in five years and employee pulse surveys with the highest scores for belonging, meaningful work, and opportunities to grow. This month, our team in Hyderabad was delighted to help distribute supplies and spend time with the children at the Home for the Disabled, Devnar Foundation for the Blind, and Ashray Akruti (a school for children with hearing impairment). Can you relate? Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System struggled to staff enough clinical care workers—there are only 10 nurses for every 1,000 people in Louisiana—and costs were rising. On top of that, each department was using different systems to manage contract labor hiring, so everything was expensive, inefficient, and way too complicated. If that feels like you right now, check out how Hallmark helped Franciscan harness workforce intelligence to manage their internal pool, contract labor, and staffing agencies through one dashboard—and how that turned into a 38% reduction in contract labor costs, higher nurse retention rates, and a happier team. https://hubs.la/Q03HMLLC0 On-image quote: “We believed that if we did the right thing for our workforce, many of the other issues, including financials, would correct themselves." -Annalee Starks, BSN, RN, Staffing Director for Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System

We’re grateful for the incredible turnout at the 2025 Strategic Partner Summit at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. One highlight was our fireside chat with Paula Phillips, SVP Operations Infrastructure at Ascension: Navigating Workforce Challenges: Insights to Ascension's Approach to Labor. The conversation covered critical topics including finding the right labor mix, managing the total cost of labor, the rising challenges with managing locums, and leveraging AI to drive smarter decisions. It underscored the very real pressures health systems face today and how forward-thinking leaders are reimagining labor strategies to strengthen their workforce and deliver sustainable care. A special thank-you to Paula for sharing her insights and to all of our partners who joined us in shaping the future of healthcare workforce innovation. That’s how it felt at when they suddenly needed more staff than their MSP could provide—and realized they had little control over pay rates, or even which professionals they were bringing into their hospitals. Find out how the transformation helped Community Health System achieve: • A 21% reduction in average nurse bill rate • A 41% reduction in time-to-fill rate • A 100% fill rate • And 25 travel nurses who converted to employees Get the whole story here: https://hubs.la/Q03Gx9_P0

At Hallmark, service is a core value that guides how we show up for each other, our clients, and our communities. We believe meaningful impact happens when we encourage and empower our employees to give back, and we are proud to support their efforts in serving others. This month, Hallmark employees in Dallas, Atlanta and Pompano Beach demonstrated that commitment in powerful ways. In Dallas, under the leadership of our CFO Nick Brignola, our volunteers partnered with Vogel Alcove, an organization that provides care and support for children and families experiencing homelessness or poverty. In Atlanta, led by our CHRO Tara Davidson, our team served at The Community Food Center in Marietta, a direct-distribution pantry that relies on volunteers to ensure families receive the essentials they need. And in Pompano Beach our volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help restore the beauty of Southern Florida’s beaches. Hallmark values the opportunity to serve our communities, even in cities where we do not have a physical office space. Next month, we look forward to sharing stories from our colleagues in India as they continue this important tradition of service.
