Proud to recognize our Baxter, Minnesota, ready-mix plant for earning second place in the Eastern Region of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s 2025 Environmental Excellence Awards. The site was upgraded to maximize its compact footprint and align with the latest environmental best practices. Improvements included a new batch plant, stormwater ponds, a fuel tank and management system, a weir system, slump racks, a truck wash area and a fully paved yard to reduce track-out to city streets. For the last two years, Knife River has been a proud sponsor of Ty Olson, a 15-year-old INEX Legends car racer. Ty is currently in his third season racing Legend cars, and, with the Knife River logo proudly displayed on each of his race cars, he’s already made a name for himself in his hometown of Mandan, N.D., and beyond. With just a few weeks to go until the 2025 INEX Racing Series Dirt Nationals, Ty is the points leader in the Semi-Pro (Dirt) class and is looking to win both the points title and race this year at the 2025 INEX Racing Series Dirt Nationals, which is coming up Oct. 9-11 at Nodak Speedway in Minot. Ty already has 38 top-five finishes under his belt this season – including a pair of top-three finishes at Nodak – and he’s looking forward to a big finish in his home state at the national race. We’re proud to highlight a major milestone reached by our Knife River Prestress team: The successful casting of the longest and heaviest precast girders ever produced at their plant. Each girder stretches 193 feet, weighs over 230,000 pounds, and features a carefully engineered 7.5-inch precamber. This accomplishment reflects more than just size; it demonstrates the expertise, dedication, and teamwork that define our company. The Prestress crew met this challenge with precision and pride, delivering outstanding results.
