  • We were honored to present “Trails and Parks Design” to Rochester Institute of Technology’s Civil Engineering Technology Capstone class. Laura Seib, RLA, from our Landscape Architecture Studio shared expertise on the complexities of trail and park design – from balancing ADA accessibility and ecological protection to navigating regulatory frameworks and advancing client goals. These principles came to life through Fisher’s work on the Autism Nature Trail at Letchworth State Park and the Crow’s Nest Access at Niagara Falls. By engaging with case studies, students saw how our design decisions directly shape health, safety, and the human experience—insights they can apply immediately in their own capstone projects. A special thank you to Professor Amanda Bao, PhD, PE, for the invitation and for fostering this meaningful partnership between RIT and Fisher Associates – bridging education and practice to prepare the next generation of engineers. #RIT #Presentation #FisherAssociates #Parks

  • At Fisher’s Housing & Community Design Studio, we prioritize people, honor place, and create communities. Think about the communities that stand out to you. When you arrive, you feel it right away. The streets are welcoming. The public spaces are alive. People are connected to each other and proud of where they live. That sense of place is what makes a community unforgettable. Housing costs, the number of units built, job growth, square footage of commercial space, number of new permits, property values, environmental statistics — all of these metrics matter. They help us understand the health of a community. But they are not the whole picture. If we only design to improve the numbers, we miss the point. Dynamic places come from weaving all the pieces together. That is the longer game of community design. The best performing places create the fabric where people feel connected, are proud of their community, and have a sense of belonging. When we get it right, then the numbers rise too, but this time they reflect something deeper and more enduring: a community that works for people. #FisherAssociatesHousingandCommunityDesign #FisherAssociates

  • Precast design in a week? Yes, it’s possible when you have the right partner. At Fisher Associates, we understand that precasters don’t just need drawings delivered quickly — they need a partner who understands their challenges and helps them succeed. Our structural engineers deliver comprehensive precast services that include structural design and estimating, customized shop drawings, erection plans, reinforced concrete pipe design, and quality control and handling analysis. Beyond that, we provide design solutions for a wide range of structures such as noise walls, manholes, box culverts, utility vaults, dry wells, retaining walls, and prestressed bridge beams. By combining speed with precision, we help projects stay on schedule, on budget, and moving forward. We’ll be at the National Precast Concrete Association 60th Annual Convention (Oct 2–3, Grand Rapids, MI) to share how we’re driving efficiency and impact in the precast field. Connect with Emily Smith, PE, and Tamer Osman, P.E, at the event, and let’s talk about your project needs and how we can assist you. #NPCA #PrecastConcrete #EngineeringExcellence #FisherAssociates

Don Naetzker, AICP, Director of Planning at Fisher Associates, hit the water for the annual New York Architects’ Regatta Challenge, an event that combines design world camaraderie with the challenge of racing on the Hudson.
