On the most recent episode of Over the Counter powered by Drug Topics, we sat down with Bill Wolfe from WriteWise to discuss the current state of #PBMs in the #pharmacy industry, how new and #alternative movements are on the rise, and the ways in which his company is attempting to recorrect the #challenges in pharmacy benefit distribution today. "Why the PBMs have come under such scrutiny is that folks go through this exercise every year or every few years," Wolfe told us. "They think, ‘Okay, I got a new deal, I'm going to save money,’ and then they don't. Even though the PBMs hit their guarantees at the discount and rebate levels, the client still spends. The cost just keeps going up, while the consumer also continues to pay more out of pocket. We're really at a #crossroads."
