🚀 Breaking New Ground in Supersonic Flight! Carried by a Starfighters F-104 aircraft, last week GE Aerospace announced it has successfully completed supersonic captive carry flight tests of its ATLAS Flight Test Vehicle, marking a major milestone in advancing solid fuel ramjet (SFRJ) propulsion technology. 🌍✈️ The system reached supersonic speeds during three successful flights at Kennedy Space Center. This achievement showcases the potential of air-breathing propulsion to extend the range of munitions and paves the way for future high-speed systems. See more on how the team is continuing to evolve and grow the technology.

At GE Aerospace, we are deeply committed to inspiring the next generation of engineering talent. In partnership with United Way Bengaluru, we launched the GE Aerospace Foundation's Next Engineers program in #Bengaluru, India — it's very first location in the Asia-Pacific region. Over the next four years, the program will reach more than 4,000 students, equipping them with hands-on learning experiences, career exposure, and university readiness. This builds on the impact of 26,000+ students already engaged globally through Next Engineers. The launch ceremony at our Bengaluru research and engineering centre, along with our community partners, marks a significant new chapter, as we empower future engineers to soar higher. It’s an exciting week at Air Force Association’s (AFA) Air, Space & Cyber event, where GE Aerospace is showcasing groundbreaking advancements in aerospace propulsion and technology. This week, we announced several major milestones that demonstrate our ability to scale advanced propulsion concepts from the lab to real-world testing. We announced we have begun altitude testing of the GEK800 small engine at Purdue University with our partners at Kratos Turbine Technologies. This engine is designed to power the next generation of affordable unmanned aerial systems and CCA-type aircraft. At Kennedy Space Center, we conducted supersonic captive carry tests of our solid fuel ramjet, paving the way for powered flight. At the GE Aerospace Research Center in New York, we successfully tested rotating detonation combustion-powered dual-mode ramjets, achieving scalability and a threefold increase in airflow compared to legacy systems.
