  • “My passion for helping the community has led me to volunteer. This passion, coupled with a desire to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by blood cancers, led me to Blood Cancer United. There, I've deepened my understanding of blood cancer, honed my communication and leadership skills, and experienced tremendous personal and professional growth. As a leader, I work alongside an incredible team of community health workers, significantly expanding the reach of educational programs within Latino communities.” We need more passionate volunteers like Luz. She is a dedicated community health worker who draws strength from her Mexican roots. Her commitment to service has led her to impact countless lives affected by blood cancers at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), now known as Blood Cancer United. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us by exploring our Spanish resources on blood cancer education, support, and access to care. • “I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) when I was 18 years old, the summer before I was supposed to start college. Instead, I spent six months receiving treatment on a clinical trial at CHOP. I was fortunate to have access to outstanding, cutting-edge cancer care and have a good outcome. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in the medical field. I’m now a physician-scientist finishing my oncology fellowship. I’m passionate about advancing the field of oncology through research and advocacy.”     Robert, a resilient physician-scientist who turned his blood cancer diagnosis into a career dedicated to advancing oncology. Inspired by his personal experience and participation in a clinical trial, he has become a passionate advocate for research and improved patient care. Join us in supporting breakthroughs for blood cancer patients like Robert! Together, we can create a brighter future for those affected by blood cancers. • “Life as a survivor ignited a fire within me to advocate for others. Each moment that I commit to volunteering for Blood Cancer United is an opportunity to empower and inspire those navigating their experience. I want others to see that, while cancer is a hardship, it can also spark a light within us that illuminates the path for others, creating hope along the way.” Kenya was diagnosed with two blood cancers: multiple myeloma (MM) and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML). But they don’t define her. She also loves spending time with her family, doing yoga, giving back to others who are in need, dancing, traveling, and reading. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is now Blood Cancer United, still the world's leading organization focused solely on blood cancer research, support, and advocacy. • We asked. You answered. ❤️ Behind every response is someone whose life has been impacted by blood cancer. There are more than 100 types of blood cancer, and this is why we chose our name—to better represent who we are and who we serve. Together, we can do even more. Thanks to a matching gift from the Terence J. O’Sullivan LiUNA Charitable Foundation, your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000 through 9/30/25 👉 https://bit.ly/4pJkPjk

  • Behind every research breakthrough are the people who want more birthdays, milestones, and everyday moments with the ones they love. ❤️ Together with the HAIRY CELL LEUKEMIA FOUNDATION, we’re investing up to $7 million in the HCL2030 program to push research forward and create better options for patients with hairy cell leukemia. This continued collaboration will open up new therapeutic options for individuals with hairy cell leukemia (HCL). We proudly supported earlier work by Dr. Tiacci leading to a new treatment for people with relapsed HCL. On World Cancer Research Day, we honor patients at the heart of this mission, and the researchers who are making progress possible 👉 https://bit.ly/3IAaIMU

  • “Today I am 31, and a chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) survivor of over 12 years. With CML, I never know if I should call myself a ‘survivor,’ as its ongoing forever in many cases, or say that I’m ‘in remission.’ I consider it a victory and a sign of great growth that I am even trying to think about decades to come, as for so long, post-diagnosis, I didn’t dare hope to have a future. I am so grateful to LLS (now Blood Cancer United), doctors, and researchers whose work has kept me alive and helped me thrive, and I am hopeful to see many more future miraculous scientific breakthroughs like the ones I have been so lucky to benefit from.” “In remission” and “survivor” may both be good choices for Isabel. Also, a music producer, DJ, dancer, swimmer, outdoorswoman, cat lover, cook, and volunteer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is now Blood Cancer United. And in recognition of World CML Day, we want to encourage Isabel and everyone diagnosed with CML to show the world what it means to live with blood cancer. ❤️ Find free support here 👉 https://bit.ly/3Kf8PpB

  • “Replacing sports and activities with medical appointments and struggling financially and emotionally without support has been my reality for four years. As a single parent, I've endured unimaginable hardship, navigating the simultaneous cancer diagnoses of my identical twins, who were both diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-cell ALL) within three years of each other. The initial experience was traumatic, and the second diagnosis pushed me to my limits.” It can be hard to remember what life used to feel like before a blood cancer diagnosis. But before two diagnoses? We’re here to remind Alec, Aden, and their mom that even with T-cell ALL, we’re doing everything we can to make sure you get more time together. For podcasting. iPading. And superheroing. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is now Blood Cancer United, still the world's leading organization focused solely on blood cancer research, support, and advocacy. We do the most for more kids with blood cancer, so kids with blood cancer can do more of whatever they want. 🪁🧸🛝⚽🎮 ❤️ For every kiddo, and family that needs support, find free resources here 👉 https://bit.ly/46KQucB #KnowALL #WorldALLDay
