Everyone has probably heard, but iOS 26 came out this week, and it is a huge deal for SMS marketing. In helping to fight spammers and scammers, Apple will also be making it harder than ever for brands to reach their customers. The big changes are that messages from “unknown senders” are now buried in a separate inbox, tracking IDs are stripped, and inbox filtering is coming to messaging. If your SMS program is not using Two-tap signups and new best practices, you will lose significant revenue and visibility as adoption ramps during Q4. Because this is so important, I wrote a long article about it to help marketers understand what’s changing. Please share this with anyone who you think it will help! It covers what's really changing in iOS 26, why being in Known Senders is critical, and the exact steps marketers must take to keep their messages in the main inbox. iOS 26 does to SMS marketing what iOS 14.5 did to Meta advertising.
