About us

At Currey & Company we like to say we deliver. And we mean that in more ways than one. We deliver a unique design vision that makes our chandeliers, lamps and furniture shine. Historical influences, including twentieth century classics, are tweaked with imagination. Every detail of design is executed with clarity and finesse. We deliver products that show the touch of the human hand. You see the stroke of the painter’s brush and the mark of the blacksmith’s hammer. Our rich multi-step finishes and fine craftsmanship are the results of time consuming handwork. We deliver real products crafted of natural materials – porcelain, iron, seashells, wood, and more. These appealing materials take more effort and patience, but the results stand out in an artificial world. We deliver an up to date catalog and website so that you can review the current product line anytime. We deliver customer orders on a timely basis. We invest in inventory and manage our business in such a way that we can craft a superior product and still provide exemplary service to our customers. What can we deliver for you?

  • Dana Wolter Book Signing | Read our blog: https://bit.ly/46VzE9M One of our main events during High Point Market, which gets underway on October 25th, is a book signing to celebrate The Elegance and Comfort of Home by Dana Wolter, which was recently published by Gibbs Smith—the author above photographed by Graham Yelton. Known for her chic southern style and discerning eye for restful, collected, and timeless interiors, she is an award-winning interior designer located in the Mountain Brook suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. Flipping through the pages of the book is a veritable retreat in itself given the feeling of calm Dana achieves in her interiors. Stop by our showroom at IHFC, M110 on Main Street, on Sunday, October 26th, between 3 and 5 p.m. to have her sign a copy for you. We asked Dana some questions about her philosophy behind the beauty we see in the book so we can share them with our readers. #designblog #interiordesigner #hpmkt

  • Design Reimagined Book Signing | Read our weekly design blog: https://bit.ly/46nggnl Corey Damen Jenkins opens his introduction to his book Design Reimagined with this quote from Oscar Wilde, which he says has deeply resonated with him during the time since he wrote his first book Design Remix: “Life imitates art far more than art imitates life.” We are excited to share with our readers that we will be hosting a book signing for this new book during High Point Market on Monday, October 27, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. We hope you’ll stop by our showroom in IHFC, M110, on Main Street and have him sign one for you. Recently published by Rizzoli, it is stunning! #designblog #bookdebut #hpmkt Corey Damen Jenkins

  • Design Team Inspiration with Pam Bailey | Read our weekly design blog: https://bit.ly/3VJ31Hb Last week we shared Drew Alden’s responses to a visit our design team made to Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, Longwood Gardens, and Chanticleer to soak in the design inspiration each of these storied properties has to offer. Today, we learn what most interests our Vice President of Product Development & Design, Pam Bailey, as she made her way through the mansion and the bountiful landscapes. It is fascinating to see how each person on the team had his or her own take on the vignettes, antiques, and plant species they found most intriguing. “With its vast collection of decorative objects, architecture, and acres of gardens, Winterthur is always a good idea for inspiration,” says our Vice President/Creative Director, Cecil Adams, who was also on the trip. “Our design team visits are the beginning of a pathway to new products inspired by the past and designed for the future.” #designblog #winterthur #designinspo

Glass Vases for Floral Artistry | Read our design blog: https://bit.ly/47Nxknm Flower Magazine is one of our favorite sources for advice on everything from arranging bouquets, to pulling off a grand fête, to hosting an intimate cocktail party for a handful of friends. Not only does the publication’s editor Margot Shaw share insightful tips and tricks, she draws in some of the country’s savviest designers and florists to impart their wisdom, as well. In a recent piece titled “Party Planning Tips from the Pros,” Shaw admitted flowers on the tablescape were nonnegotiable for her, but, “I used to think I had to spend all day doing some magnificent centerpiece that a show dog couldn’t jump over because it was so high. I don’t do that anymore. I’ve gotten relaxed enough to know that more is not necessarily more. Most of the time, I cut from the garden, whatever the season. Got a pair of scissors? It’s as easy as that.” #designblog #glassvases #floralart

  • Porcelain's Historic Appeal | Read our design blog: http://bit.ly/3Hv3fOV When blue and white hard-paste porcelain began showing up in Europe during the Renaissance, it was referred to as “white gold” because of the crispness of the surfaces on which the cobalt and pale blue hues were painted. By this time, the Chinese had been slowly perfecting the vessels, statuettes, and dishware made from the material for eons, the earliest experiments dating back to the Shang Dynasty that spanned between 1600 to 1046 B.C. By the seventh century A.D., the clarity we now see in the highest quality blue and white porcelain had been achieved in the country’s factories. As the products were carried eastward via the trade routes that had been developed along the Silk Road, the material created a fervor among Europe’s elite vying for the beautiful pieces they saw. Beyond the decorative vases and figurines, cups and saucers were especially prized for bringing a trendsetting sense of style to tea time. #designblog #porcelain #blueandwhite

  • Artistry in Bronze | Read our weekly design blog: https://bit.ly/4lCdEGu When Paris Design Week gets underway from September 4 through 8, the iconic design fair Maison&Objet will celebrate a lauded sculptor and the museum that now houses his work. Shortly before his death in 1916, Auguste Rodin donated all of his work to the French State. In return, the Hotel Biron is a Paris museum dedicated to the sculptor called Musée Rodin, seen in the image above. The lovely hôtel particulier, as Paris mansions are known, is brimming with the famed man’s work in a variety of media, with many of the pieces of art in bronze. #designblog #bronzeproducts #bronzeart #curreyco

  • Bringing Nature Into Interiors | Read our weekly blog: https://bit.ly/45cDI63 The editors of Homes & Gardens, one of Great Britain’s premier design magazines, declare that bringing nature into interiors is a trend that is here to stay. “Defined by organic materials and a deep, neutral color palette, the nature-inspired look is fresh and inviting,” they add. “And while bringing in house plants and opting for floral fabrics is well and good, interior designers are recommending other clever ways to get the natural look at home this year.” They spoke with interior designers about their top tips for including a natural aesthetic in spaces without relying on clichés. The “out-of-the-box” ways they say to bring the outdoors in include opting for natural wood furniture, placing mirrors where they will reflect natural light, and choosing elements that add sculptural details. #designblog #natureindesign #naturalmaterials #productdesign
