Trending in the RIGHT direction! While trends of the storm are more favorable than earlier anticipated, it’s important to not let your guard down when it comes to the ocean. Moderate to high marine/surf conditions are favorable starting Sunday and throughout the rest of next week, and it’s important to stay aware of these conditions throughout the storm. To see rip current risks, as well as other marine conditions, go to https://safebeachday.com/. ALWAYS swim near a lifeguard. Most beach towers were removed on Friday, but still check what flag day (Green, Red, Yellow) by typing in North Myrtle Beach at safebeachday.com Remember: ✅Remain calm ✅ Keep your energy ✅Float or tread water if you’re unable to escape

The Irish Italian International Festival was a hit! From a spaghetti eating contest to tons of vendors and our very own Public Safety and Parks and Recreation tents, it was an event that did not disappoint! The City was able to host its annual festival today, and even with a slight downpour, the party continued!

❗Final Comprehensive Plan Public Engagement Drop-In❗ The City of North Myrtle Beach is updating its Comprehensive Plan, a long-range policy document that will guide decision-making and development for the next five to ten years. To ensure the plan reflects the vision and priorities of the community, the City invites residents and business owners to participate in the final public engagement opportunity. The final Public Engagement Drop-In will be held on Wednesday, October 1, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the FFA Camp Gym (1069 FFA Circle Road). This session will provide an overview of the Comprehensive Plan update process and give attendees a chance to share their ideas on important topics, such as housing, growth, land use, transportation, economic development, recreation, and quality of life. The Comprehensive Plan Community Survey, open now through Wednesday, October 8, provides an additional way for community members to offer valuable feedback. This feedback will help shape the vision and priorities for the future of North Myrtle Beach. Paper copies are available at the Planning & Development counter inside City Hall. Survey: https://lnkd.in/eBVXC5VW For more information about the Comprehensive Plan update, the survey, or the upcoming Public Engagement Drop-In, please contact the Assistant Director of Planning & Development, Suzanne Pritchard, at lspritchard@nmb.us.
