We unite everyday people to unlock their financial progress.

About us

Chime was created because we believe everyone can unlock financial progress, and we want to develop solutions and services to empower people to succeed. The premise upon which we started Chime is simple: basic banking services should be helpful, transparent, and easy. Our easy-to-use tools and intuitive platforms give members the ability to have more control over their money and to take action toward achieving their financial ambitions. By designing a member-centric banking app with easy-to-understand financial tools, we’re creating a more competitive market with options for everyday Americans. We offer access to accounts with no overdraft fees, provide members the chance to receive their pay up to 2 days early* with direct deposit, help them build credit history, and build financial literacy to hit their goals—among many other things. Since 2012, we’ve grown our team to more than 1300 Chimers across 3 offices. But more than that, we’ve expanded the products and services we offer to our members based on member feedback. And in doing so, we’ve disrupted the banking industry and changed the conversation for everyday people about money on a national level. Chime is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC. *Early access to direct deposit funds depends on the timing of the submission of the payment file from the payer. We generally make these funds available on the day the payment file is received, which may be up to 2 days earlier than the scheduled payment date.

From scholar to intern to full-time Chimer. In 2025, the impact of the Chime Scholars Foundation® came to life through people like Dhyasa K. Dhyasa began her journey as a Chime Scholar, and this summer, joined our team as our first Scholar Engagement Intern. In just a few months, she tripled engagement in our online community, built an AI tool, and even presented to Chime’s Board of Directors. Today, she’s a full-time member of the CSF team, helping hundreds of ambitious scholars stay connected and supported. Her impact is one story in a year filled with them. In 2025, CSF welcomed 800 new scholars—our largest cohort yet—bringing us to 1,018 scholars to date across 369 institutions. With an 87% projected graduation rate—nearly double that of Pell Grant recipients—the CSF community continues to rise together. We’re proud of what these students have accomplished and energized by the momentum ahead. Chime’s 1% pledge ensures we can keep expanding access, reducing financial stress, and opening doors to opportunity. Because when one scholar rises, the whole community rises with them. 2025 moved fast—and so did we. In 2025, we launched the new Chime Card™, introduced Chime Workplace™, and successfully completed our migration to ChimeCore™, our proprietary transaction processing core and ledger. We made our Nasdaq debut. We partnered with changemakers and gamechangers (here’s looking at you, Cooper Flagg). And through it all, our work stayed rooted in one thing: building better financial tools for millions of Americans. And the year's not over yet. Let’s keep unlocking progress, together.

New server, same mission: build community through connection. 💬💚 Chime launched a Discord server—and it’s been buzzing with member stories, savings tips, and a lot of pet photos. 🐾 But this isn’t just another channel. It’s a cross-functional labor of love—led by Chimers like Stephanie Dumas and Jake Ford, who saw an opportunity to create something safe, fun, and uniquely Chime. Check out the full Q&A in the slides, then dive deeper in our latest blog post to meet the team behind the launch, see how we’re keeping members safe on Discord, and get a peek inside the channels. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/grBHXBdU We’ll see you in the chat: [discord.gg/chimefinancial]

This year, Chime’s “Holiday Unwrapped” survey found that Americans are rethinking what it means to give well. It’s not about spending less—it’s about giving with intention. 70% of people said they’d prefer money over traditional gifts, and younger generations are leading the shift. They’re focused on easing everyday pressures and entering the new year with stronger footing. But joy still has its place—experiences, skincare, books, and small luxuries made the list too. The takeaway? When it comes to generosity this season, comfort matters more than clutter. See the full findings → chime-holiday.com

💚 Chime has been named one of Fast Company’s 2025 Brands That Matter! This recognition is about more than marketing—it’s a reflection of how we show up: with creativity, cultural relevance, and a member-first mindset. From going big for Financial Progress Month® to launching the video series “Mama, I Made it,” Fast Company recognized us for building real emotional connection—and for pushing financial conversations into new places. We’re proud to be honored alongside brands shaping culture and leading with purpose.

This morning, we stood alongside Pledge 1% to ring the Nasdaq opening bell on Giving Tuesday—and spotlight the Chime Scholars Foundation (CSF). Powered by our 1% equity pledge, CSF is more than a scholarship program. It’s a long-term investment in access, opportunity, and progress. So far, we’ve awarded $7M in scholarships to 1,000+ students who are first-generation college-goers (65%) and pursuing nontraditional paths (64%) like trade certifications or community college. And we’re just getting started. Thank you, Nasdaq, for giving us a platform to celebrate what matters most: turning equity into opportunity for the next generation. #GivingTuesday #Pledge1 #ChimeScholars
