Susanna C., local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Serramonte in the San Francisco Bay Area, previously managed assisted living facilities and provided end-of-life care. After taking some time away from work to raise her children, Susanna began to think about the next steps in her career. “I had a whole career in healthcare. Chick-fil-A at the time was just our favorite place to go. It was a happy place, and the culture made me fall in love with it,” Susanna said. Her deep-rooted passion for service now shapes her leadership at Chick-fil-A, with a focus on mentoring her Team Members, fostering their growth and giving back to her community. This Hunger Action Month, we’re honoring the everyday efforts of Chick-fil-A restaurants and their nonprofit partners working to end hunger in local communities. Since 2020, local Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators and their teams have helped create more than 200 million meals for neighbors in need. Through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, contributions to Feeding America during new restaurant openings, and partnerships with nonprofits across the U.S. and Canada, their commitment to care continues to make a difference. Today, more than 2,500 Chick-fil-A restaurants participate in Shared Table, redirecting surplus food to local nonprofits that turn it into meals for those in need. We’re grateful for the dedication of every local Owner-Operator, Team Member, and nonprofit partner who helps extend care, one meal at a time. Across the country, Chick-fil-A restaurants are finding meaningful ways to care for their communities. One way is through the “Chick-fil-A Loves Their School” initiative in California, where one restaurant is partnering with local schools to celebrate and support students and educators. Last week in Rialto, CA, Chick-fil-A Hwy 210 & Ayala served 1,000 fresh Breakfast Biscuits to students at 10 local schools, along with complimentary breakfast cards for staff, to help kick off the new school year. The effort was led locally by Owner-Operator Eddie Brown and his team, who were excited to bring care and joy to the classrooms in their community. From early morning drop-offs to friendly smiles at the door, we’re proud to see Chick-fil-A restaurants making a difference, one biscuit at a time.

In Pasadena, CA, Chick-fil-A E. Colorado Blvd. Owner-Operator Adaobi Gwacham recently welcomed local community-minded high school seniors to her Restaurant for an evening of encouragement and celebration. 💫 Ten students were selected as part of the Restaurant’s local Community Scholarship Student Awards, honoring Class of 2025 graduates for their achievements both inside and outside the classroom. Each student was awarded a scholarship between $250 and $1,250 to help pay for books and supplies, with extra support given to those whose families lost homes in the Eaton Fire. Students also received a Chick-fil-A catered meal for 10 to enjoy with family and friends. Thank you, Adaobi, for pouring into the next generation—and helping make the path to their educational dreams a little easier.
