  • We recently wrapped up our ABC Islands youth ship visit series aboard Carnival Celebration. This marks Carnival Corporation's third consecutive year hosting young people across the ABC Islands. Over three days, 155 students gained hands-on insights into cruise industry operations — from Aruba’s and Bonaire’s Buki di Pret program to Curaçao Tourist Board’s Youth Tourism Experience Program and hospitality students from the University of Curaçao. They met with our ship's leadership team, toured the vessel and discovered career opportunities in our industry. #CarnivalCorporation #ABCIslands #YouthEmpowerment

  • Last week in Maimón, we marked an important milestone: the handover of Maimón Basura Cero, a participatory solid waste management model created with the community to protect the environment, improve quality of life and support local economic growth. Developed as a pilot by Amber Cove Cruise Center with the technical support of Fundación Héroes del Medio Ambiente, and in partnership with the municipal district of Maimón, the program now moves forward under municipal leadership. Maimón Basura Cero provides practical tools to reduce the use of single-use products, classify waste at the source, create selective collection routes and foster inclusive value chains where recycling and circular economy businesses can grow. With more than 60 percent of our Amber Cove team members living in Maimón, this was a natural place to begin — and the model has the potential to be replicated in other communities across the Dominican Republic. #MaimónBasuraCero #AmberCove #DominicanRepublic #CommunityEngagement #CircularEconomy

The program includes a guided, behind-the-scenes tour of the ship, offering a closer look at navigation, guest services, safety protocols and environmental technologies. These visits provide community members with a unique opportunity to learn about the positive economic and social impacts of cruise tourism in their region. We are proud to support partnerships that create meaningful engagement and greater understanding between our teams and the communities we serve. #CommunityEngagement #CarnivalPanorama #TourismBajaCalifornia #CruiseTourism #EnvironmentalStewardship

  • Carnival Corporation is proud to share that Vicky Rey, CTC, vice president of government affairs for Latin America, has been appointed to the Champions 12.3 coalition. Champions 12.3 is a global group of leaders working to reduce food loss and cut food waste in half by 2030 in alignment with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Vicky’s appointment reflects her leadership in advancing partnerships that support food donation efforts in Latin America, helping surplus meals safely reach families and organizations in need. Through her work, Carnival Corporation has built flexible, locally supported frameworks designed to maximize the use of high-quality surplus food and reduce waste. These efforts are part of the company’s broader Less Left Over strategy, which has already helped reduce food waste per person by 44% in 2024 (vs. 2019), surpassing the company’s 2025 interim goal a year ahead of schedule – all while continuing to offer world-class food and dining experiences. From transparency, risk, and the need for support for fuels, our latest Energy Breakfast put the finger on the pulse of one of the most important EU regulations: The Sustainable Transport Investment Plan (STIP).     For our latest Energy Breakfast, held yesterday at Press Club Brussels Europe, over 40 attendees listened to an insightful discussion on how the STIP can support heavy transport decarbonisation.      If done properly, STIP holds promise for scaling low-emission fuels, unlocking infrastructure investment, and improving coordination across modes and markets. Our speakers explored the barriers to current alternative fuel deployment and investment and STIP priorities for hard-to-abate sectors. Our key takeaways:     ✅ There was discussion among the panellists regarding the pricing of fuels, with the need for greater clarity on the pricing of biofuels and alternative fuels across the sectors.     ✅ Hard-to-abate sectors need to be prepared to take risks regarding investment in decarbonising solutions. While regulations, such as STIP, can support de-risking to an extent, we need to accept that decarbonisation will mean additional risk.      ✅ The importance of implementing current regulations will be essential, as that is the best way to meet emissions targets.     ✅ Our COO, Steve Esau, made the case for regulatory simplification and cost support for liquified biomethane, which is proven to reduce GHG emissions as a drop-in fuel.     ✅ Aviation was discussed in depth, with the need for technical neutrality and regulatory support for fuels such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel. As a result, STIP needs to support biofuels as well as synthetic fuels.     Thanks to Stefano Murace at Eurogas, Monika Rybakowska at @Airlines for Europe (A4E), @Bernard Vanheule at @Carnival Corporation, Marco Paviotti, Policy Officer at DG MOVE, and Steve Esau at SEA-LNG for their contributions, as well as Thomas Jérémie Hayden-Lefebvre from TL Strategies for moderating the discussion.     If you would like to attend the next SEA-LNG Energy Breakfast, please get in touch!     #ShipsAndShipping #LNG #Decarbonisation
