😈🏒 We love introducing new friends! Community members got to meet the Greensboro Gargoyles’ new mascot this morning at MedCenter Greensboro. Our big, purple pal toured the Cafe, Play!, Sagewell Health & Fitness and the Cancer Center, inspiring lots of smiles. 😊 We can’t wait to see him in action at the Gargoyles’ first game October 18! 🥅⛸️

💔 5,757 babies were born in Guilford County in 2023—and 53 of them died before reaching their first birthday. Of those deaths, 70 percent were Black infants. When addressing infant mortality, #BlackMaternalHealth and varying levels of access to care is also a key factor, according to Olu Jegede, MD, MHA, CPE, FACP, FAAPL, FACHE, Senior Vice President and Chief Health Equity and Community Impact Officer at Cone Health. 💬 “We have to stop blaming the patient and ask why the system failed them,” said Dr. Jegede. “We must culturally take care of patients. In this role, Dr. Schuck will provide strategic leadership for medical staff operations and clinical quality at 📍 Alamance Regional Medical Center and 📍Annie Penn Hospital. 🚀🩺 Dr. Schuck brings more than 20 years of experience in pediatric medicine and healthcare leadership, including multiple Chief Medical Officer roles across HCA Healthcare and Trinity Health systems. 🏥📈 Most recently, he served as Regional Chief Medical Officer for Trinity Health Georgia, where he led quality operations across three hospitals and helped drive a $22 million improvement in net operating income.
