We strive to live our culture of care, courage and collaboration in our communities. Here’s how we’ve made a difference this week… 🏠At Sisters Incorporated, a women’s refuge in Cape Town, a team from our nearby office lent a hand tidying the facility’s gardens and painting outdoor areas for service users to enjoy. They also brought an array of food and other supplies collected through an office donation drive. 🎁The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program provides aid to children in need through donations of clothes and toys. Across our sites in the US, our very own Christmas Elves assembled enough donations to support 90 children across the country. Today we proudly welcomed investors to our US Capital Markets Day held at the NYSE. Our customers - key opinion leader surgeons - shared their experiences with our differentiated product portfolio and the positive impact our innovations have had on their practice and their patients. As I reflect on today's session, and our London event on Monday, my take-away is simple: our bold new RISE strategy will enable Smith+Nephew to reach more patients and to continue our rich legacy of delivering innovation that transforms the standard of care. In doing so, we will elevate Smith+Nephew, accelerate our growth and improve returns. RISE is ambitious, and it is achievable. I would like to thank the team that made this week's wonderful events happen, and I look forward to working together with the whole of Smith+Nephew as we bring this strategy to life.

Inspiring the next generation of STEM innovators at our 2025 STEM Careers Conference! Hosted at Smith+Nephew Academy London, we were pleased to welcome students to explore the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in partnership with Migrant Leaders. From hands-on medical technology demonstrations and virtual reality surgical simulations to career conversations with our team, the day was packed with opportunities to learn, connect, and dream big. We’re proud that this initiative—part of our STEM Careers Outreach Programme—was recently recognized with the UK Social Mobility Award for Community Programme of the Year. #STEMCareers #LifeUnlimited #Inclusion #SocialMobility #SmithNephew

Delivering #Orthopaedic care is more than completing a surgery, it also involves leveraging data to improve patient outcomes, running a successful business and understanding market trends. Tom Harte sat down with me to discuss how Healthcare Outcomes Performance Co. (HOPCo) is serving the Orthopaedic industry to meet these needs. #innovationsthatmatter Smith+Nephew

Today I am proud to present our bold new strategy - RISE - at our Capital Markets Day in London. Through RISE we will elevate Smith+Nephew, positioning us for our next chapter of success. RISE builds on our 12-Point Plan transformation, which has created a fundamentally stronger, more agile business over the last three years, and a springboard for future growth. Through RISE we will: REACH more patients by driving adoption of our differentiated portfolio and taking share across indications, settings, and markets worldwide. INNOVATE to enhance the standard of care through accelerating new product launches and rapidly scaling existing innovation platforms. SCALE through strategic investment, allocating capital to high return and high growth opportunities aligned to our portfolio priorities. EXECUTE efficiently, driving enterprise productivity and asset efficiency to expand our margins and returns. I would like to thank the entire Smith+Nephew team for their dedication and focus through our transformation. As we look ahead, I am excited by what we can achieve together. Guided by our culture pillars of Care, Courage, and Collaboration we will deliver on our purpose of Life Unlimited and be better every day for our customers, their patients, and each other.

We wrapped up another great Smith+Nephew #OrthopaedicsforAll Global Advisory Board meeting in Memphis last week and had the opportunity to hear from many female physicians about their perspectives on patient care, leadership, and the future of our industry. A little while back I spoke with Dr.Jessica Hooper about her experience becoming an Orthopaedic surgeon and how mentors guide and help new surgeons understand all aspects of the profession. These conversations remind us that progress in #Orthopaedics isn’t just about procedures—it’s about people investing in people. #OrthopaedicsforAll

We’ve been putting our company values of care, courage and collaboration into action across the globe this week. Here’s what we’ve been up to… 🧩 As part of Movember, our teams came together to support men’s health awareness in creative ways. In Wroclaw, colleagues hosted a coffee morning to highlight the positive impact that connection and conversation can have on mental wellbeing. Meanwhile, at our Croxley site, six teams battled it out in a lively company quiz to raise funds for the West Herts Hospitals Charity. 🥬 In Japan, our Lunch Café & Marché brought colleagues together for great food, friendly conversations, and fresh produce including lettuces and wasabi leaves from our indoor farm, which recently celebrated its first anniversary - strengthening connections across teams in a warm and lively atmosphere.
